CURRICULUM NIGHT: Our first Curriculum Night for this year is TONIGHT (Thursday, October 11) from 6 – 8 pm. We will follow an Open House style format. Please encourage your parents to attend!!!!
PTA FUNDRAISER: The AAW PTA will be having a Little Caesars pizza kit fundraiser starting October 11th and will run until October 18th. Order forms will be passed out during third hour on October 10th. Orders are due NO LATER THEN end of school on the 18th, Please see Mrs. Martin if you have any questions.
COUNSELORS OFFICE: Dual Enrollment applications are due to MCC by Friday, October 19th for the Winter-2018 semester!
Test-Out Exams: Students that are interested in attempting to test out of a class can sign up now. You must sign up for test-out exams by Friday, October 26th in order to participate. Students will have 4 weeks to prepare prior to the December 4th and 5th testing days. Please see the school website or Ms. Chappelle for more information.
ARTS HONOR SOCIETY: The Arts Academy National Honor Society is sponsoring our 3rd annual Non-perishable Food & Hygiene Products drive. The competition begins Monday, October 15th and will run until Friday, December 14th. This is a friendly competition between 1st period classes. The 1st period class that collects the most items will win a doughnut breakfast in class before winter break!
ASSEMBLY: Our next assembly is on Friday, October 26. If you are interested in performing, please pick up an audition packet from the assembly bulletin board, outside room 104. Upon completing your form, you must schedule an audition with your corresponding arts teacher on Tuesday, October 16, Wednesday, October 17, or Thursday, October 18 (Yes, that’s next week)! Please contact Mrs. Collins in room 203 if you have any questions about the upcoming assembly!
STUDENT COUNCIL: Student Council with the help of PTA will be hosting a Harvest Festival on Friday, October 19th from 4-7. The fee is $3 a person. This includes hot dogs, pop and chips provided by the PTA, face painting, lawn games, open mic, etc. This also includes a basket raffle where attendees can purchase raffle tickets and have the opportunity to win a prize (such as gift cards, pistons tickets, and other cool things). We will also have a Bake Off for a $5 entry fee; the winner will win a gift card.

HANGOUT: Wednesday, October 31st the Hangout will be closed. Please make arrangements to be picked up at the 2:35 dismissal. There will be no after school activities in the building on that day, so all students must leave campus after dismissal. Smart Buses will run as usual. Any questions please see Mr. Messel.
