Examples of Class Topics:
Guitar
The beginner explores the fundamentals of playing guitar, including an introduction to the basic chords, scales and reading music. Students analyze and critique their sound and performances regularly.
Piano
Beginning piano is designed for students who have little to no prior experience on piano. This course will build solid foundations for beginning musicians in: basic keyboarding skills, reading music, beginning music theory and overall musicianship.
Jazz Band
Jazz bands vary in the quantity of its members and the style of jazz that they play but our jazz band is primarily performs as a big band, which is made up of a rhythm section and a horn section. Our musicians are encouraged to explore various styles of jazz and often explore and perform as a member of smaller jazz combos in addition to the big band.
Concert Band
A concert band, also called wind ensemble, symphonic band, wind symphony, wind orchestra, wind band, symphonic winds, symphony band, or symphonic wind ensemble, is a performing ensemble consisting of members of the woodwind, brass, and percussion families of instruments, along with the double bass or bass guitar.
